Download For Democracy:
Two Ways to Use the Internet to Access Government Documents
I believe that the internet can and will
transform American politics, allowing citizens to fully
realize the Founding Fathers' goal of participatory democracy.
The Download For Democracy campaign offers two ways for
citizens to access government documents: by downloading the
individual PDF's directly from links provided on the Government
Document Library page, or by downloading the PDF's through
Peer-to-Peer file sharing networks, such as BitTorrent, Gnutella, Kazaa, and Soulseek.
When you read these
documents, keep in mind that we would not have access to many of
them if it were not for the huge investment of time, money, and hard
work on the part of public interest groups like Judicial Watch, the NRDC, the National Security
Archive, and The Center for Public
Integrity. If having access to
government documents is important to you, please consider supporting
these organizations, and the other groups like them, that
are fighting to keep our government open and honest.
